At the Special District Meeting held on July 24th, 2009 , a motion was made that the ALD Board leverage $23,000 in existing funds from the current budget to abate the Main Dam problems.
The ALD Board obtained three competitive bids from qualified vendors and worked with Karl Acimovic the tax district's outside engineering consultant to plan for the installation of two cutoff walls and curtain drains to alleviate the problems.
After obtaining the DEP Permit, the ALD Board awarded a contract to Knight & Sons Construction. The winning bid came in at $20,300. The work was started and completed in mid October 2009 on-time and on-budget. The attached pictures depict the repairs that were performed.
