Welcome to Amston Lake

Welcome to the official web site of the Amston Lake tax district! Amston Lake is a beautiful 188-acre lake located in the towns of Hebron and Lebanon, Connecticut. There are over 700 property owners in the Amston Lake District, a tax district formed by the Connecticut legislature in 2002. About half of the houses are year-round and half seasonal. But on the Hebron side of the lake, about 70% are year-round, while on the Lebanon side, 70% are seasonal. Click here for more information.

Gatekeeper.  The Amston Lake District is requesting bids for gatekeeper.  Responsibilities include opening and closing gates at two District beaches at 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. every day from Memorial Day to Labor Day.  Please send bids by May 16 to Amston Lake District, P.O. Box 95 Amston, CT 06231

Board member Ray DeCormier is coordinating this initiative for the Amston Lake District.

Amston Lake District president Dave O'Brien says that residents should look at the DEP report on invasive nuisance species. Residents can also "Google" "Lake Waramaug Task Force" to see how another Connecticut lake has dealt with invasive weeds and excessive nutrients.
