State Police to Monitor Amston Lake on July 4^th

  The State Police will be on-site at Amston Lake during the July 4^th holiday to insure that fireworks are not set off on Amston Lake Tax District properties (Main Beach, Lollipop Beach and all Rights of Way).

This necessary because:

$             Setting off fireworks from tax district properties poses a safety hazard to our residents and guests.

$             Liability claims could be brought against the Amston Lake Tax District if someone is injured (lawsuit against the tax district).

 $             The cost of our liability insurance would likely go up if there is a claim for an injury.

 $             Illegal  – Connecticut General Statute Sec. 29-357 Sale, Use and Possession of Fireworks Prohibited.

Anyone who illegally sets off  fireworks  from  property owned by the Amston Lake Tax District will be subject to arrest.
