Welcome to Amston Lake

Volunteer for the Lake! We need your help!

There are a number of areas for which volunteers are needed.
  1. Volunteer to be a board member of the Amston Lake District. Elections to the board are held each May during the Annual District Meeting. Meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month. Contact the clerk of the Amston Lake District at  amstonlakeclerk@yahoo.com. Current board officers are listed at on the Lake Government contacts page. Minutes and Treasurer's Reports of recent meetings are accessible from the Lake Government page.

  2. Volunteer to be on a committee reporting to the board of the Amston Lake District. Current committees are Dam, Storm Drains, Lebanon Wastewater Study, Drinking Water, Boats & Rafts, and Weeds. Committees are typically headed by a board member. Contact the clerk of the Amston Lake District at  amstonlakeclerk@yahoo.com to volunteer for a committee, especially if you have special expertise.

  3. Bring problems and concerns to the Amston Lake district Board of Directors either by coming to a monthly meeting or emailing the district clerk.

  4. Volunteer to serve on a Hebron or Lebanon committee. Towns often ask for volunteers to fill out committees. See the Hebron and Lebanon web sites, which sometimes list committees with vacancies.

  5. Join the Amston Lake Association (ALA). This is a volunteer organization that owns the Clubhouse on Wood Acres Road and sponsors a range of activities ranging from Lake Days to Halloween and New Year’s Eve parties. Join ALA and pay membership dues ($25/year) to support ALA activities.

  6. Help with maintenance of Amston Lake. Typically this consists of volunteer work days raking beaches and rights of way or cutting brush under the direction of lake management. Contact the caretaker, Carl Wool, at 860-228-1014 or jwool52334@aol.com.
